Haven fans are presently enduring a long and quite hiatus, but showrunner Shawn Piller promises season 5B will be well worth the agonizing wait.

Last year, Syfy awarded Haven a supersized fifth season of 26 episodes, which would be aired in 13-episode blocks. December saw the last installment of 5A leave fans with a Troubling cliffhanger, but viewers will get to experience the fallout from Duke's (Eric Balfour) disastrous bomb when Haven returns later this year (see video below).

"Haven's best season yet is airing in fall," Piller tweeted in early June, adding the unfortunate caveat that he sill doesn't "know exact dates."

Writer Brian Millikin, however, hinted at a July or August premiere announcement.

"My expectation is we'll premiere in mid or late September, per usual," Millikin informed Havenites. "They typically announce six weeks out-ish?"

Although everyone is eager to see Duke, Audrey (Emily Rose), and Nathan (Lucas Bryant) back in action, the series' return could signal Haven's ultimate end. Writers are prepared for the season finale to morph into a series finale although Syfy will not pass judgment until 5B is underway.

"I expect them to announce the Season 5B premiere date in a bit," Milliken teased. "Decision on fate of show will come later I presume."
