The tiny militia will be besieged by the Overlords more organic forces in season 5, and the sudden surge of enemy troops will have Tom Mason's (Noah Wyle) survivors at a loss as to their origins.

All this will change by episode 3.

Unfortunately, however, it seems "Hatchings" will hold more bad than good for the resistance.

"The 2nd Mass discovers the source for the seemingly endless supply of enemy forces. With the Volm's help, Tom's leadership begins to spread to remaining human militias around the world," TNT teased of the July 12 episode.

This, however, is when the Masons' luck will take a turn for the worse.

"Hal disobeys his father to help Maggie on a personal mission," TNT announced. "Meanwhile, Tom has to make an agonizing choice that ultimately risks one of their own, leaving lasting repercussions for them all."

Well, Tom, at least you have the rest of the world behind you, even if no one close to home will be particularly pleased with you.
