The Miami Heat (6-2) will continue their long road trip when they take on the Los Angeles Clippers (5-2).  Both of the basketball clubs will come into the game sitting in first place in the divisional standings.

With Miami and LA both possessing two of the strongest NBA offenses on the court, the matchup will likely feature a high scoring game from start to finish.  The Heat are currently ranked first averaging 105.5 ppg while the Clippers are in the third spot with 102.1 ppg.

However, it will be the defensive play of both sides that will more than likely determine the game's outcome.  For Los Angeles, their defense has been a different story from their offense.  The team has given up 94.1 ppg against opponents this season, which ranks them 13th in the NBA.

Interesting enough, Miami also sits at the bottom of the respective category.  LeBron James and company are ranked 24th as they've allowed 100.3 pg.

The Heat have been beaten twice this season against the likes of the New York Knicks and the Memphis Grizzlies.  While neither of the teams may be more talented than Miami altogether, they do have a size advantage against the Heat.

While the defending champions are clearly one of the best teams in the NBA, they must learn to play more consistently in the paint.  The rationale by many behind the concern is that coach Erik Speolstra opts to use scoring power forward Chris Bosh at the position over an agile center.

Nonetheless, the game should turn out to be a battle of epic proportions.  The Heat are coming off a victory over the Houston Rockets while the Clippers will look to add to their 3-game winning streak.
