Audrey Middleton is one of the biggest variables heading into Big Brother 17 this summer.

Which 'Big Brother 17' Houseguest Will Win The $500,000?

Audrey, 25, is the show's first transgender houseguest and is by far the most talked about new player of the season. A digital media consultant from Villa Rica, Ga., she describes herself as a huge fan of Big Brother with a liking of stronger female cast members in the past like Rachel Reilly and Amanda Zuckerman.

She will be entering the house at a time when the transgender population is more mainstream than ever before. High profile celebrities like Caitlyn Jenner and Laverne Cox, in addition to shows like Amazon's Transparent, Netflix's Orange Is the New Black and ABC Family's Becoming Us have introduced the general audience to a previously taboo segment of society.

Will There Be More 'Big Brother 17' Houseguests Announced Soon?

With all this in mind, Audrey may still face issues with some houseguests when she enters the Big Brother house. After all, the concept of transgenderism is difficult for some to understand and some just do not agree with it whatsoever.

It remains to be seen if Audrey's status as a trans woman will impact her standing in the game. Assuming it doesn't, she may still have a difficult time fitting in due to her hardcore willingness to play the game. As many have noticed in her pre-game interviews, Audrey is clearly ready to play and get metaphorical blood on her hands. She has likened herself to Dexter Morgan, the titular serial killer of Showtime's Dexter and it seems as though she will do anything to stay in the game.

This may make her a target for other houseguests who are more laid back. But if Audrey gets into a tight alliance, she could be a force to be reckoned with in the house and if things go her way, she could possibly go all the way to the end and win.

Big Brother 17 premieres Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
