Todd Chrisley of USA’s Chrisley Knows Best might be a tough and strict father but it’s only because he has a soft spot when it comes to his children. In a new interview he opened up about their success and similarities to the Kardashian family.

Kyle Chrisley Claps Back At Todd Chrisley, Claims Show Is ‘Fake’

More than three million tune in to Chrisley and his eccentric family on USA every Tuesday. He compared their success to that of E!’s Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

“Would I like to have numbers like that? Yes," he admitted to Gold Derby this week. "Would I like to be able to be in that many households one night a week? Absolutely…I’m not interested at all in our show becoming a train wreck. I’m not interested at all in our show becoming something that is fiction.”

He also humbly added that he’s no expert when it comes to being a father.

“I don’t know how much I know best about. It’s certainly the name of the show, but I’d like to say I know best about trying to know best.”

Chrisley, who has been having a bit of drama with his oldest son Kyle lately, said that as a parent he knows he doesn’t always have the “right answers” , but it’s no secret that he tries.

“I certainly believe that I put forth a very concrete effort to research and kind of go through things in my mind, and in my heart, as to whether I believe this is the right thing.”

Still, his ultimate goal is that families are able to watch the show “after a long day at work” and see the “heart-felt moments of a real family who deal with real issues, but we love each other through it.”
