The lawsuit brought against country superstar Keith Urban by Player guitarist Peter Beckett appears to be getting ugly--and there has even been accusations flung that Urban wouldn't have quite as much fame if it weren't for his marriage to Nicole Kidman.

Keith Urban Gushes About How 'Grateful' He Is For Nicole Kidman

The lawsuit, which Beckett has taken against both Urban and the Home Shopping Network, alleges that Urban stole his band's name for a guitar lesson package he has sold, saying he believes it is a trademark violation.

Beckett claims that Urban snatched the name for his guitar lesson package which features an acoustic guitar kit, guitar and instructional DVDs after the band performed its 1978 hit Baby Come Back on an episode of General Hospital last year.

In the lawsuit, Beckett also slams Urban's decision to use the name Player for the kit, saying that it was a desperate grab for additional fame--and even alleges that if it weren't for both his stints on American Idol and his marriage to Kidman, he wouldn't even have the sort of fame he does.

"Perhaps if not for his marriage to Nicole Kidman, and if not for his appearance as a judge on the tail end of the now cancelled American Idol, defendant Urban's fame would be limited to country fans for just a few more years," he says in the lawsuit.

Urban and Kidman married in 2006 and are the parents of two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret. Prior to the couple's marriage, Urban had released five albums.

The trial is scheduled for December.
