Actress Elizabeth Banks shared great news on Wednesday, Nov. 14.

The "Hunger Games" star has welcomed her second child, a baby boy. The 38-year-old and her husband, Max Handelman, made the announcement on her website ElizabethBanks.com. While she did not disclose details including the exact birth date, weight and height, she did reveal that another boy has joined their household and his name is Magnus Mitchell Handelman.

"Nothing can match the joy and excitement my husband and I felt when we recently welcomed our second baby boy, Magnus Mitchell Handelman," Banks wrote in her blog. "Magnus joins older brother Felix, thus commencing a decade or more of close hand to hand combat."

Banks then explained in the post that Magnus was born via a gestational carrier due to fertitlity problems she experienced in the past.

"The one true hurdle I've faced in life is that I have a broken belly. After years of trying to get pregnant, exploring the range of fertility treatments, all unsuccessful, our journey led us to gestational surrogacy: we make a 'baby cake' and bake it in another woman's 'oven,' " she said.

In spirit of the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, Banks expressed gratitude for many things including her children.

"....thankful to our family and friends for their support throughout this process, as well as the Center for Surrogate Parenting for helping make all this possible.... " she said. "I now turn my attention to managing two boys under two. For which I am thankful. And all their poop. For which I am less thankful. Wish me luck."

Banks and Handelman met in college in 1992 and were married in 2003. They had their first child, Felix, also via surrogate in March 2011.

Banks' small screen experience include a recurring role on "Scrubs" from 2006 to 2009. Her many film credits include "Seabiscuit," "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" and "Spider Man 3." In 2012 she appeared in several films including "The Hunger Games," "What to Expect When You're Expecting" and "People Like Us." Next year Banks will appear in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" and "Movie 43."
