A premiere date has been announced for the third season of Reign with a bit of a twist.

Writers Of 'Reign' Are 'Hard At Work'

On Wednesday Deadline announced something rather surprising about the season premiere. The royal drama will return to The CW on October 9 at 8 p.m. ET. What's different about this is the fact that this date happens to be on a Friday even though the show aired on Thursdays.

The series may still go back to its regular Thursday time, but the premiere, itself, will happen right before the weekend.

EXCLUSIVE: Jonathan Keltz From 'Reign' Opens Up On Morbid Content Of Series

Meanwhile, Enstars previously had the chance to speak with Jonathan Keltz who plays Leith on the graphic series. He opened up on how the show is able to feature so much mature content despite the fact that it airs on a channel meant for younger viewers. But as it turns out, people of all sorts of ages watch this program and see the power that comes with it.

"I think that a lot of people just sort of assume that The CW's audience is girls that are 12-16," Keltz said. "And I found that particularly for our show, our viewership is definitely in that range and they support us, which is wonderful, but we have a lot of older viewers as well."

"I know a lot of couples who actually watch the show together, which is interesting," the actor added. "And there are couples in their 20's and 30's, and then there are women in their 40's and 50's who are watching it together as well. I've also found that a lot of mother-daughter groups watch it together as well and [they] watch these strong powerful women."
