TVFanatic caught up with Austin Basis, who plays JT Forbes in Beauty and the Beast, while he was still filming for season 3.

Jay Ryan Teases 'Twist' In Upcoming Episode Of Beauty and the Beast

The interview was published recently and Basis did give a very good season of where JT's life will be headed in the next chapter. Basis suggested that JT will actually pursue his own individuality and do some real soul searching even at the cost of his relationship's with Tess (Nina Lissandro) and Vincent (Jay Ryan). Basis revealed that JT had been a bit complacent and immature thus far, but now he will start coming into his own and really growing.

"He has a relationship that was impossible for years, to even suggest. Now it's pushing him into manhood. I feel like his life before that didn't allow him to mature and he was a little stunted," he said. "I would only wish him happiness, whatever that happiness is, but also identity, because that's another thing he's trying to search for."

One Of The Main Characters To Die In Season 3?  

Of what Basis suggests it seems like JT will be one of the prime focuses this season and this chapter might be the most pivotal for his character so far. But again, Tess and Vincent might get ignored or even fall on the wrong side of the line in his self-centered pursuit.

"He continues that search in Season 4. He's trying to find who he is as an individual, even though it juxtaposes his relationship with Tess, and also his loyalty and connection to Vincent, within that he has to know who he is and be comfortable and happy. He's never really had the time or the faith to allow that to happen, so he's struggling to do that."

Finally, Basis just hoped that JT gets some answers and the search is fruitful and does find some kind of closure.

"I hope that whatever it is, he finds it gratifying enough that he doesn't have to keep searching. Not that he has to stop searching and learning about himself, but there is a time for that kind of process, when you're on the right path." Basis said. "Like I can feel the groove in the road now, and I'm going in the right direction. Hopefully he finds that."
