When talking to Payne, the entertainment site learned that the four remaining 1D lads have not written as much as they previously had on the last two albums.

"Right, this is the big dog," Payne said about the fifth album, adding, "I don't mind saying that we didn't actually get a chance to write as much this time. We've written a lot of songs don't get me wrong but not as much because the writers were away and we were on tour, but they came back with great songs."

So fans will still definitely hear tracks penned by the 1D members, but not nearly as many as before.

Regardless of the lack of songs penned by the band members, this upcoming release from 1D sounds promising as Niall Horan described their sound for it as being "a lot more rocky" and apparently their new tunes have been said to sound similarly to that of Fleetwood Mac's sound.
