Dancing With the Stars producers may not be able to land Caitlyn Jenner as a contestant after all.

Is Derek Hough Leaving 'Dancing With the Stars' After Next Season?

Jenner was reportedly being courted to be a celebrity competitor on Dancing With the Stars for the upcoming season. But there is a new report that says she may not be able to join the show.

"DWTS is losing hope on getting Caitlyn for the show," a DWTS source reportedly told HollywoodLife.com. "The offer was made, but scheduling, money and a few other bumps in the road are making producers feel that they should give up on their chase."

Rumer Willis Fractures Foot Amid 'Dancing With the Stars Live!' Tour

Defending pro champion Val Chmerkovskiy had previously said that he would want to be Jenner's partner if she were to join the show.

"I'll be Cait's partner for sure," he told In Touch. "I've proven I can win the show, and I would love to have an opportunity to win it with someone that nobody else believes can do it.

"She and I won't physically match but I volunteer," he added. "As long as you have the right energy, I am in it to win it."

Chmerkovskiy was partnered with Rumer Willis during the spring season. They wound up winning the Mirrorball trophy, making this his first victory since joining the show in 2011.

Dancing With the Stars returns for another season on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
