Bones season 11 officially has a premiere date as well as a plot synopsis revealing a big time jump from the season 10 finale.

How Much Did The Stars of 'Bones' Know About Finale Twist Beforehand?

Fox announced their TV show fall premieres this week, including the 11th season of Bones. With a date set for Oct. 1, the network says that the crime procedural will pick up six months after the events of the latest finale.

"Picking up six months after the Season 10 finale, Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Booth (David Boreanaz) have moved on to a new town and new jobs, having given up their old life and settled into a blissful death-free existence. But a murder unlike any other draws them back to investigate with their former colleagues at the Jeffersonian and FBI," the synopsis reads.

Will Hodgins' Brother Jeffrey Return At Any Point on 'Bones'?

As Bones fans saw in the season 10 finale, Brennan and Booth left the Jeffersonian/FBI to spend more time as a family. Many fans commented that this felt like a series finale in many ways, but based on the synopsis, it was simply a means of shaking things up a bit as the show enters its second decade on the air.

It is unknown if either Brennan or Booth will get back into the action again and get their old jobs back, but it's safe to assume that they will still be solving crimes in some fashion. Hopefully the "murder unlike any other" doesn't involve one of the show's secondary characters.

Bones season 11 premieres Thursday, Oct. 1 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
