The comic book studio has often taken flack for lack of female actors/directors/writers, but new comments from the president of Marvel Studios indicates this trend may come to an end in 2018.

Feige admitted that the lack of female directors and directors of color is a problem throughout Hollywood, according to IGN, but Marvel is looking at Ava DuVernay (Selma) to possibly helm Black Panther.

"We've met with her for sure. We've met with a number of people for a number of movies. She has been one of them," Feige said, adding that the studio is always looking to "find the best director for any given movie. And that's really where we always start."

Although the leader of Wakanda won't receive his own stand-alone film for several years, Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) will make his first appearance in 2016's Captain America: Civil War.

In the meantime, Marvelites can catch the studio's next film, Ant-Man, which will hit theaters on July 17. Click the video below to see a preview.
