Emma Roberts Coming Back For 'American Horror Story: Hotel' Despite Busy Schedule

As AHS fans know, the show has flip-flopped between the past and the present every other season. Season 1, Murder House, was in the Los Angeles present while Asylum was in 1960s Massachusetts. Coven was in modern-day Louisiana while Freak Show was in 1952 Florida.

Many previous AHS stars are coming back for season 5, including Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Denis O'Hare, Emma Roberts and Finn Wittrock. Previous guest stars who are confirmed for the new season include Matt Bomer, Wes Bentley and Chloë Sevigny. New stars who are joining the show for the first time are Lady Gaga, Cheyenne Jackson and Max Greenfield.

As fans now know, Jessica Lange will not be returning for another season, to the sadness of many. She was the unequivocal star for the past three seasons, after her standout supporting role in season 1. The actress is moving on to semi-retirement, though she will be in a stage product of Long Day's Journey Into Night in 2016, which is produced by AHS co-creator Ryan Murphy.

American Horror Story: Hotel premieres in October on FX, though the network has not yet announced a specific premiere date.
