Breakthrough star Shawn Mendes opened up on how incredible it feels to be touring with pop-country superstar Taylor Swift.

On Thursday, ET Canada shared an interview with Mendes who gushed over Swift and her sweet personality.

"Touring with her is actually really amazing," the 16-year-old said. "It's really awesome. She's just so kind and she's always hanging out."

Mendes just released his new single "Stitches" from his album Handwritten. Within a day, the song received a good number of hits on YouTube and currently holds more than one million views as of Saturday.

"I check [YouTube] like every 20 minutes," the singer said. "And watching [the video views] go up is crazy...like 10 minutes ago it was at 400,000...that's definitely the most views we've ever gotten overnight."

Mendes took his career to a good light when he performed for fans at The Hospital For Sick Children for "Duracell's Power Smiles" event. This was a day that meant a lot to the singer.

"A lot of people forget the importance of having fun, and being silly and laughing and smiles," he said. "And to be here today to be able to sing for them is very important to me."

Meanwhile, the teen star previously told Hollywood Life if he would ever consider making new music with Swift.

"I would love to collaborate with Taylor Swift," he quipped. "If there's time on the tour I would love to sit down and write something with her. I mean, if she would ever just write a song outside of our buses, I'm so down."
