The relationship between Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) and Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) is pretty much severed.

Things have been severely rocky for the couple for quite a long while now especially within the last few weeks of Michael's scheming to get Lauren to cheat on him with Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard).

Things are so bad that Lauren recently signed the divorce papers since she feels there is no chance at fixing their relationship anymore.

Anyway, Cane's wife Lily (Christel Khalil) recently sought revenge and cheated on Cane with Joe (Scott Elrod) and now she has been facing her guilt.

Plus, Bregman chatted with Soap Central earlier this month, in which she dished that she believes her character and Goddard's character "have good chemistry" together.

Does this mean Lily and Cane are heading for splitsville too?

Well, Bregman is not too sure of that.

"I think they are great friends, but I honestly don't know if it would go into anything else," the actress said of her character and Goddard's character's relationship.

Plus, Bregman believes that Lauren feels as though Cane is "her lifeline" since they both have dealt with a spouse who was with cancer and therefore they know the same pain.

There is a lot of common ground between them, but Lauren has told Cane in recent episodes to fight to keep his marriage with Lily. Unfortunately that might all change once he learns of her cheating.

The Young and the Restless airs on weekdays at 12:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
