The threat of Mount Weather no longer looms on the horizon, but Grounders and Sky People alike will still have to fight for survival as the Arkers' arrival continues to send shockwaves through the kudzu-covered beltway in season 3.

Without giving away any major spoilers, writer Aaron Ginsburg painted a grim, but entertaining, picture of what's in store for the 2016 return.

"I can tell you that all the work we are doing right now in the writers' room is incredible," Ginsburg wrote on Sunday. "We are pushing the boundaries of our storytelling more and more, we are expanding the world of our series and delving deeper into the characters you love. Next season is going to be brutal, I won't lie, but I truly think you'll be satisfied by what we have to share."

If you're looking for information of just what prompted that nuclear holocaust 97 years ago - be excited. If you're looking for more Grounder culture - be ecstatic. If you're looking for "alternate realities full of talking-puppet-versions of [The 100's] heroes - apparently you should look somewhere else.
