'The Voice' Season 8 Winner Falls Ill Amid Trip To Los Angeles To Work On Album!

Sawyer Fredericks has been one busy teen since partaking in the eighth season of NBC's The Voice and while he has become a pro at fielding questions during interviews, his mom, Kirsten, is getting interviewed too.

The teen's mom opened up to Brad Cooney on Sunday about what's going on in her son's world right now.

Sawyer's mom believes they're all "adjusting pretty well" to the sudden changes that have come with her son competing and winning on The Voice.

Kirsten actually admitted that even though her son made it through the blinds, it seemed reasonable to think most viewers would just be scouting for the next big pop sensation, but that obviously was not the case.

"We were just really surprised," Kirsten said about the viewers embracing her son's musical genre choices.

Kirsten revealed how "absolutely wonderful" of a coach Pharrell Williams was to her son.

"He's a really kind person...It was absolutely a joy working with him," Kirsten added about Pharrell.

Pharrell has said he would like to work with Sawyer on his album, but Kirsten did share that "scheduling" will most likely play a huge part in if that happens or not.

Sawyer's mom did share that her teenaged son has been busy meeting with a bunch of songwriters and producers "to see who he works well with" while out in Los Angeles so far.

Kirsten said something should release from her son by the end of the year, but she's not sure if it will be his complete album or just a single.

The Voice will return to NBC in the fall for its ninth season.
