It is summer and frozen treats are a must to cool off at least a little bit, but Fifth Harmony's Ally Brooke Hernandez recently endured a painful situation with her ice pop.

Which Song Should Be Added To Fifth Harmony's Set List For Their 'Today Show' Performance?

On Sunday, the 5H member was with her bandmates in Pennsylvania for a show and of course they were treated to some yummy food.

Hernandez opted for an ice pop after she ate her meal, but it was too cold and literally got stuck to her tongue!

Which Quote From Roald Dahl Does Fifth Harmony's Camila Cabello 'Live By'?

Why does this happen? Well, her tongue was warm when it initially touched the ice pop, but the ice pop absorbed the heat and cooled her tongue, which in turn caused her body to send more heat to her tongue. But the ice pop sucked up the warmth faster than her body could resupply it so the moisture on her tongue therefore froze causing her tongue to get stuck to the ice pop.

It's similar to the science experiment of sticking one's tongue to a metal pole in the winter months.

So Hernandez shared a video of the situation and dished, "[Y]es, my tongue really was stuck."

In today's news.... (yes, my tongue really was stuck) Thanks @schloss8 for documenting my pain

She and those around her were amazed that there's truth to this scenario. Camila Cabello was actually the one to pull the ice pop from Hernandez's tongue, which we imagine felt a bit painful considering Hernandez's reaction. That minor snafu with a frozen treat didn't keep the 5H singer from all frozen treats though. She indulged on some frozen yogurt Wednesday night and even got a spot of it on her nose!

Hopefully from now on Hernandez will be a little more patient with ice pops melting a bit before enjoying them so her tongue won't get stuck ever again.
