For George Clooney, $100 million can buy him one of the grandest estates in the world, but unfortunately it can't buy him privacy. There's a new report that says the Hollywood actor is selling his beloved Lake Como mansion in Italy because of all the paparazzi attention he's been getting there.

George Clooney Reveals His Promise For Wife Amal

According to Page Six on Thursday, Clooney is close to accepting an offer of $100 million for the mansion. He bought the 18th century Villa Oleandra from the Heinz family back in 2002 for only $10 million.

A source told the site, "He's like the mayor of the lake - but he's troubled by the attention he gets when he's at the gorgeous, cream-colored, shuttered mansion in Laglio. Photographers have recently caught George and Amal saying farewell to Robert De Niro after he and wife Grace Hightower came over for dinner. Then, this week, Clooney was photographed shirtless as he and Amal caught the sunset with a friend."

The source added, "George loves the area and the people who live there, but is conscious of the attention he gets when he is in town. He has received a huge offer for the villa, which he is considering, and he would buy another, less accessible property in another area of Italy."

Just recently, there were also other reports that indicated George and Amal have hired a team of designers for their English mansion as well.

According to Contact Music last Tuesday, George reportedly hired the designers behind private members' club chain Soho House to transform his home to a one-of-a-kind property. He currently owns a mansion in Berkshire, England that he has been renovating for several months now.
