NeNe Leakes started a whirlwind of even more rumors about The Real Housewives of Atlanta after she shocked fans and announced her departure via Instagram, but now she’s breaking her silence for the first time after reports claim she could still return as a recurring member.
TMZ caught up with Leakes at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and she got pretty chatty about the whole ordeal.
Leakes was the only cast member left from the original season. While many fans have said they’ll boycott the show if Leakes isn’t on it, Leakes revealed if she thinks the show will still be successful without her.

“I don’t know. I don’t know. It will have a different tone.”
As far as whether she would come back, she hasn’t completely closed the door on the possibility.
“I got nothing but love for Atlanta. I don’t know what I would do. I’m not sure… I’m sure I’ll come back at some point. I just won’t come back in season eight.”
She went on to shut down speculation that she quit because they weren’t trying to pay her enough.
When asked if she would return if the money was right, Leakes made it clear, “It’s not about the money… It’s just not about the money for me. If it was about the money I would’ve stayed.”
But she remained pretty tight-lipped about what it really is about.
“I got a lot of love for Bravo. I started with Bravo. It was a great platform. I will always have love for them. They’re my family. I might pop up and play with those girls every now and then.”
