Dancing With the Stars fan favorite Derek Hough recently revealed his favorite celebrity partner in his several seasons with the ABC show.

Hough spoke with The Washington Post this week as he's on Move Live On Tour with sister Julianne Hough this summer. The pro was asked about what it was like to perform with Julianne and more.

"I think it's more like it's kind of cool to be able to share something that you love with somebody you love," Derek said. "I think we look out for each other. Last year, Julianne was really injured, so when I danced with her I would be very careful and kind of protect her neck, and do things to help her. I'm her older brother, so I look out for her."

Meanwhile, Derek has danced with many celebrities since season 5 but he has one celebrity who is his favorite.

"The season with [American Idol star and country music singer] Kellie Pickler, because it was the season when I kind of came back to the show with a different outlook and a new perspective, and so for me it was almost like joining the show for the first time again. That season was special."

Derek and Pickler wound up winning that season. Meanwhile, Derek is reportedly contracted to return for season 21 in the fall though his future beyond that is not known. Considering he is arguably the most popular pro on the series, he will likely have many other career opportunities to potentially explore.

Dancing With the Stars returns for a new season on Monday, Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
