Michelle Knight, who was held victim for approximately a decade in the famous Cleveland kidnapping story, has sent her fans a kind and thoughtful message on Independence Day.

Knight took to Facebook on Friday to let everyone know that she just cut the grass outside her home in time to watch the fireworks. She mentioned that she hopes everyone has a beautiful day and to be thankful for what they have.

"I'm super excited to mow my lawn on this beautiful day," she wrote. "I hope everyone has a Happy 4th of July full of fun and fireworks God gave us everything we need in life's embrace the beauty he brought forth to us God bless all of you with peace happiness and the strength to overcome any obstacles that stand in your way."

On Saturday, Knight added another post that shows a picture of herself smiling in a 4th of July celebration image.

Knight turned into a nationwide hero, along with Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus, when it was discovered that Ariel Castro kidnapped them in his suburban house until the girls finally found their freedom. Castro was taken to prison where he commit suicide less than two months after his sentence.
