Nobody can essentially replace Kalinda, but somebody will have to step in for the role of private investigator in season 7 of The Good Wife.

The Good Wife Renewed For Two More Seasons?

Well, Alicia's (Julianna Margulies) going to be hiring a new private investigator and it's going to be a man this time around. Reports reveal that Extant star Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be joining the cast of the next chapter of The Good Wife and he will be batting for Alicia's team. The actor has been cast as Alicia's new private investigator.

There is still no word on who will replace Kalinda for Cary Agos Lee, but she will sure be given tough competition by Alicia's new private eye. CBS has described the new character as "a calm, experienced hourly investigator." Morgan is perhaps best known for his role as Denny Duquette in Grey's Anatomy.

In a press release making the announcement the showrunners Robert and Michelle King spoke about adding Morgan to the cast.

"We've loved and admired Jeffrey Dean Morgan for years, and we were thrilled to hear that Julianna did too, so it was a no-brainer to ask him to join our troupe," he said.

The next chapter of the legal drama is set to premiere on CBS on Sunday, Oct. 4 at 9 p.m.
