Katic, who plays Kate Beckett on Castle, engaged with her Twitter followers this week about a variety of topics, including the ABC show itself.

"I don't know enough about it 2tease. Just happy @AlexiHawley & @OldManWinter14 are @ the helm & trust their vision I love her & love working with her," Katic responded.

There has been some speculation about what's next for Beckett, with some wondering if she might run for state senate or possibly become the captain of the 12th precinct. However, Katic is okay with whatever road Beckett is led down.

"Whatever the bard decides. #EmbracingMyFuture", she wrote when asked about Beckett's future.

It looks like there will be a vacant spot open for the captain's seat, as Penny Johnson Jerald, who has played Captain Gates since season 4, was not asked to return for season 8. Katic was also asked about Jerald's sudden departure.

"She's a wonderful actress & gr8 human.Looking forward to our next time 2gether", Katic wrote, of Jerald. She also included a broken heart emoji, signifying that she's sad about Jerald leaving.

Castle season 8 premieres Monday, Sept. 21 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. The premiere will reportedly be a two-part episode.
