Dustin Johnson opened up on how he gets help in his athletic abilities from his future father-in-law.

Johnson is currently engaged to Instagram model Paulina Gretzky who is the daughter of hockey legend Wayne Gretzky. In a report from Mercury News on Sunday, Johnson dished on Wayne and the tips he gets on winning and losing.

"We do spend a lot of time together, just haven't really got in depth about anything like that," the golfer said. "I learn more from Wayne just by watching him and seeing what he does and asking him questions about when he was playing and things like that."

Johnson played a decent game at the U.S. Open last month, but was beaten out by new athlete Jordan Spieth. Even though it didn't work out for Johnson in the way it could have, he still has a lot to look forward to.

"I think it's very good, very positive," he said. "It gives me the confidence to know I have what it takes to win. I think I showed that at the U.S. Open. Coming down the back nine, I was hitting the shots that I wanted to hit. Unfortunately, the ball wasn't bouncing in the hole. I've got what it takes so I'm excited to get this week started."

Johnson became a father in January when his fiancee gave birth to the couple's son named Tatum.
