For anyone who was hoping for a Downton Abbey movie following the final season, it's probably best not to get too excited.

'Downton Abbey' Actor Reveals What He'll Miss The Most When Series Ends

On Tuesday, Mirror discovered that a film based on the British drama sounds unlikely since series creator Julian Fellowes hasn't seen any hints of a movie at this point. He said he has not "seen a serious proposal" and it's possible that "they don't want to make one."

Even if a film never happens, the creator made it clear that it's still going to be a worthy ending.

'Downton Abbey' Producer Reveals Something That Will Be 'Quite Moving'

"There is a time when you have to get the movie out," he said. "If the series ending is the ending, there's nothing wrong with that. It's good to go when some people will still be sorry."

Fellowes also opened up on the deaths of certain characters and how only some of them were planned.

"We only had one kill-off that was our choice and that was William the footman, who was a very good character- but we felt that someone had to die in the First World War," he explained. "It's wasn't believable that no one died. And it had to be someone that the audience loved."

"We couldn't just bring a character in and then kill them off a week later," the creator added. "But all the others were just actors handing in their notice. Except for the Turk. The Turk arrived to die."

Downton Abbey Season 6 is expected to premiere in the United States in early 2016 on PBS.
