Viewers will see a different and potentially dangerous side of Nick Collins on ABC’s Rookie Blue this evening and it might only be the beginning for the heartthrob Division 1 officer; but will it hurt his blooming relationship with Juliet?

While Nick has been known as the good and sweet guy for the past seasons of the show, life happened for him and now that a huge blast from his past is resurfacing, he’ll transition into another person.

Actor Peter Mooney dished on the changes that will begin to show in tonight’s (July 16) episode with TV Line Wednesday. Nick's brother makes an appearance and Juliet observes something in Nick that she has never witnessed and has a vital decision to make.

“When she sees what she sees in this episode, it’s time to decide if she’s in or out, because it’s a lot to take on. It’s something she realizes she can either deal with or not. So this is the episode where it comes to be undeniably, one way or the other.”

Grab your tissue because this episode is also set to be an emotional one. Writer and co-creator Tassie Cameron even noted that it was difficult for her to put ti together.

When it comes to his brother’s return, Mooney said Nick didn’t see it coming.

He deal with it, “as well as he possibly could. [Laughs] It really, really throws him for a loop. Nick’s time in Afghanistan and Nick ending up at 15, there’s a lot of stuff that he’s on the run from, and this is he episode where it all catches up.”

Mooney added, “It was a real trip to film it. We were filming with this great director called Steve DiMarco, who’s fast and furious and has this great energy. There was no sitting around on set. We were really hammering through this episode, which was great. It felt really immersive. There wasn’t time to pop out of it, which I loved.”

Interestingly enough, Charlotte Sullivan’s (who plays Gail) husband, Peter Stebbings is the one who portrays Nick’s brother. He said that this helped the two have a “connection right off the top.”

He added that viewers will be reminded once again that despite previous episodes, “he’s no Superman.”
