The Elizabeth Taylor biopic starring Lindsay Lohan in the lead role premiered Sunday night on Lifetime and is being called a great comedy, though that might not have been the angle originated intended for.

"Liz & Dick, the biopic about Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, premiered Sunday night and I'm pretty sure this might be Lifetime's best comedy ever," Theo Von from Yahoo TV! reported.

In a scene from Sunday's episode, Taylor's (Lohan's) tantrum flared up in a few instances and she threw a glass bottle at the wall, shattering it into pieces. She then threw a plate, a cup and flipped a table over in other scenes.

"I don't think Lohan got the role because of her acting, it was because of her throwing arm," Von said.

In their own review, The Telegraph reported that Lohan is mocked by viewers for her "hilariously bad" potrayal of the iconic Taylor.

"Lindsay Lohan, the troubled American actress who hoped to kick-start her film career with her portrayal of Elizabeth Taylor, has been derided by reviewers for her 'wooden' and 'inadvertently hysterical' performance," according to the report.

The biopic chronicled Taylor's life primarily during the 1960s when she began her love affair with Richard Burton after meeting him on set of their 1963 film "Cleopatra." Both were married at the time.

The British actress eventually married Burton and they were together for 10 years. "Liz & Dick" showed audiences the ups and downs of their relationship and ended with Lohan portraying Taylor later on in life - with a short wig and heavier set - when she found out that Burton had died.

The TV-movie opened up by flashing on screen the message "based on a true story." However, critics stated that Burton and Taylor's romance was not done justice on the small screen and Entertainment Weekly noted "when it came to Lohan ;doing' Liz: She done her wrong."
