They've been happily married for nine years and are the proud parents of two beautiful little girls together, but if Nicole Kidman could have her way, she would have had the opportunity to have more kids with husband Keith Urban.

The actress, who is on the cover of the August issue of Vogueopened up about her marriage to Urban and their happiness together, but did note that she wished she had met him sooner than she did in her life.  

"I wish I could have met him much earlier and had way more children with him. But I didn't," she said candidly in the interview. "I mean, if I could have had two more children with him, that would have been just glorious. But as Keith says, 'The wanting mind, Nicole. Shut it down.'"

The couple married in 2006, and have since had their daughters, Sunday Rose,6, and Faith Margaret, 4. She was married to fellow actor Tom Cruise from 1990 to 2001, and the two adopted two children together, Isabella Jane and Connor Antony.  

In her interview, Kidman also opened up about her varied experiences as a mother, specifically revealing that she's been open about her own struggles with conception (Sunday is the only child Kidman gave birth to naturally), because she thinks important for other women to understand they aren't alone in the struggle. 

"I've experienced adoption, I've experienced birth with a genetic child. I've experienced surrogacy with a genetic child," she said. "I speak openly about it because so many of my friends are discussing it. It's important for other women to go, 'I get it'"
