NCIS Season 13 is in production and it seems like perhaps there was some serious downtime recently on set since Michael Weatherly (Tony DiNozzo on the show) and Mimi Rogers (CIA Officer Joanna Teague on the show as of last season) filmed the trailer of a spin-off.

Pauley Perrette Teases Information About 'NCIS' Season 13 Premiere!

On Friday, Weatherly teased a photo representing NCIS: Tijuana, which obviously takes place in Mexico right along the border of California in the United States and Mexico.

It looks like he would star in this would-be spin-off with Rogers' character and they would end up behind bars at some point.

Will 'NCIS' Season 13's Premiere Episode Bring The Team Back To America?

On Saturday, Weatherly revealed a trailer for their spin-off.

"Come and see the trailer," he gushed on Twitter, adding, "experience Mimi Rogers & The Magic Sombrero."

In the trailer, which can be seen below, the setup is it is the year 1982 in Mexico and the pair is cops on the run while chasing a sombrero. This isn't a reasonable timeframe though considering Tony is roughly in his forties on NCIS and if this would-be spin-off were to happen in 1982, he would have been a teen.

Clearly this is all a joke especially given Rogers appeared to be holding back laughter as she recited some lines to Weatherly's character in Spanish.

While in character, she then had to rescue Weatherly's character since he was all tied up.

This is kind of similar to when Weatherly got dressed up and deemed NCIS: Montenegro as a thing back in June. This time however he did go a bit further by filming a trailer.

NCIS returns to CBS in the fall on Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. ET.
