The law will be biting at Liz's ankles as season 3 begins.

'The Blacklist' Season 3 Spoilers: Prepare To See Red In A New Light, Liz Keen Dives Into The Underworld

The FBI agent is in hot water - some of it deserved (she did kills a man), some of it not (she's no terrorist) - and some trumped up charges will keep the former profiler on her toes for the entire first half of the season.

"The first 10 or 12 episodes are a real paradigm shift," series creator Jon Bokenkamp told The Wall Street Journal. "We kind of blew up the format. It's not like Red sits down on a park bench with Liz and says 'Here's the Blacklister that I want you to go catch.' That's not what the show is when we come back. They are on the run and they are fugitives."

Does this mean that Red (James Spader) and Liz (Megan Boone) will rejoin the FBI following the midseason break? Bokenkamp didn't divulge.

In the meantime, Red, at least, will survive thanks to his years of practice evading the long arm of the law. Liz, however, will have to call on an entirely new set of skills.

Bokenkamp's has a little advice for Ms. Keen, something Boone's character should heed if she wants to make it through the premiere.

"Run, Lizzy, run!" Bokenkamp teased.
