With Emma succumbing to darkness in the season 4 finale, her parents Snow (Goodwin) and Charming (Dallas) will be dealing with a lot, emotionally, in season 5.

Goodwin and Dallas attended Comic-Con earlier in the month and in a new video posted this week with BuddyTV they revealed how their characters will handle Emma's darkness.

Goodwin said that the pair are "not dealing well" with Emma's new darkness, and that ultimately "responsibility needs to be taken," considering how they went to such lengths in protecting her from darkness.

"They've done some terrible things. They try so hard, and they put goodness on such a pedestal," Dallas added. "It's a hard thing to live up to, so I think you're going to see them probably calm down a little bit about that and maybe even go to some questionable lengths to get Emma back to the savior that she once was.

"You don't want your kids to screw up like you do. ...So you want to try to protect them, and sometimes you can go too far. Sometimes you can push them a little too much."

Meanwhile, there will be some question as to who keeps the dagger, which was left behind after Emma disappeared into the darkness.

Goodwin said that this "is absolutely addressed immediately" though "I don't know that I would trust us with it."

The season 5 premiere will pick up right where the season 4 finale left off, so we will probably see the consequences of Emma's darkness right away.

Once Upon a Time season 5 premieres Sunday, Sept. 27 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
