Harney, who plays counselor Sam Healy in Orange Is the New Black, enjoyed all of his scenes will Mulgrew's Red in the third season. The pair grew closer when Red took advantage of Healy's clear attraction, though he ultimately caught on to what she was doing.

Now, heading into season 4, Harney is hoping that Healy and Red share more scenes.

"I really enjoy the scenes I had with Red (Kate Mulgrew) in Season 3," Harney told International Business Times in a new interview. "So I'm hoping we have a chance to work together again. Artistically that's very fulfilling for both of us, I believe, so there's that. But I approach it like it's a blank canvas."

Ultimately, Harney did not give any spoilers for season 4, but he praised OITNB show runner Jenji Kohan and the quality of her writing.

"Obviously I can't give you any spoilers, but I think that the writing is going to be on the same par -- if not better," he said. "And the good thing about Jenji is she never does the same thing. She's constantly creating, the writing team is constantly creating -- bringing new stuff to the table. So I don't know where we're going to go. It's just going to be another ride."

The fourth season is expected to be released in the June/July area in 2016.

Orange Is the New Black is currently available to stream on Netflix.
