Lily Rabe is reportedly close to signing a deal to return to FX's American Horror Story for season 5.

'American Horror Story: 'Freak Show' Earns Emmy Nominations For Pretty Much Everyone

Rabe is in talks to join American Horror Story: Hotel, the show's fifth season, according to a new Entertainment Weekly report. The report adds that Rabe would be playing a serial killer who has attended the hotel for which the season takes its name.

This is big news for fans of American Horror Story, considering Rabe's roles are often highlighted as some of the best in the whole series. Rabe played ghost Nora Montgomery in season 1, Stevie Nicks-obsessed witch Misty Day in Coven and innocent-turned-evil nun Sister Mary Eunice in both Asylum and Freak Show.

'Mistresses' Actress Is Checking Into 'American Horror Story: Hotel'

Rabe only appeared in one episode of Freak Show, and while the size of her role in Hotel is unknown, fans can only hope it's a larger one.

If Rabe is indeed signing on for Hotel, she will join previous co-stars Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Evan Peters , Emma Roberts, Chloë Sevigny and Denis O'Hare. Other actors set to star in Hotel include Lady Gaga, Matt Bomer, Wes Bentley, Cheyenne Jackson, Max Greenfield and Finn Wittrock.

Filming on American Horror Story: Hotel begins this month. The fifth season marks the first season without Jessica Lange, who had previously been the marquee star of the horror anthology series.

American Horror Story: Hotel premieres in October on FX, though the network has not yet announced a specific premiere date.
