Raven Symone has opened up on the backlash over Nicki Minaj being snubbed at the VMA's this year.

The rapper was not nominated for Video of the Year at the music award ceremony, something that Symone commented on in a recent episode of The View. In a clip released on Wednesday, she mentioned that she doesn't think it has anything to do with the fact that Minaj has a curvy body- she also pointed out why Taylor Swift was nominated instead.

"Here's my deal: I don't think- I could be living in my own dream world- I don't think they're saying if you have a big body, you're not going to get nominated," Symone explained. "I don't know which Taylor Swift video is being nominated, but if it's her last one, 'Bad Blood,' that's like empowerment, these girls are whoopin' butt in that video."

Even though The View co-host isn't totally against girls showing their skin- especially since she seems familiar with strip clubs- she doesn't feel like it's necessary for music videos to constantly show it.

"But we don't always need videos where girls are naked that way...?" Symone said in a slightly hesitant manner.

Michelle Collins mentioned that watching the "Anaconda" video was entertaining and made her wonder how many squats she should do. Symone said that it's going to take more than squats to get there.
