He nearly ended his life because he felt it was the only way to make sure his demons never surfaced again, but following his conscience talking him out of it, Luke (Anthony Geary) will make a very different decision on General Hospital.

Luke Contemplates Suicide

He went to his childhood home, which was on the verge of being torn down and pointed a gun at his chest, but he was stopped from pulling the trigger after the ghosts of his father, sister, and mother all visited him and made him slowly realize that it wasn't the answer--especially for his sister's memory and everything she had done to help him after he killed both his parents as a teen.

However, now, Luke will reveal to his last remaining sister, Bobbie (Jacklyn Zeman) that he has an entirely different plan for the future--one that involves him still leaving Port Charles, but of his own free will

Michael & Luke Have A Final Confrontation About The Spencer House.

"I'm leaving Port Charles," he says in a preview clip for the Friday, July 24 episode.

However, even as he leaves a legacy will still be in town because of him--especially because of the things he's recently done, which included bringing little Jake back to town and revealing the child had never died and was still very much alive.

However, the one thing Luke won't be able to see when he leaves is the reveal that Jake's actual father--Jason--is alive, because Luke doesn't know that Jake Doe (Billy Miller) is actually Jason. However, someone else very close to Luke does now know the truth--Laura (Genie Francis).

"I overheard something I'm not supposed to know," she says to Scott (Kin Shriner) in the clip.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
