Nashville is about to get more intriguing when a new singer comes aboard.

'Nashville' Writers Are 'Back In Action'

On Saturday, TV Line announced that a character named Markus Kane will be joining the series as a frontman of a successful band, but decides to go solo. He will sign up with Rayna's record label, which is bound to be exciting.

The site seemed to pinpoint that Markus will be there for the full fourth season and might share a big connection with Rayna. She's going to be helping him into the country world as he says goodbye to what he was doing before.

Teddy Will Reportedly Not Be A Series Regular Anymore On 'Nashville'

Unfortunately though, what sounds like a promising friendship will likely lead into manipulation. It was revealed that Markus's album needs to be a success so he'll have control over Rayna. And then he'll probably not be so nice to her once he has a hold on her.

The character will be played by Riley Smith, who's most commonly known for playing Keith on True Blood. Smith's other credits include Radio, New York Minute and Eight Legged Freaks.

There is a lot more that fans can expect on the series, including what's going to happen in Juliette and Avery's complicated relationship. Not to mention, Deacon was having his operation when a flatline took place...but that doesn't necessarily mean it was him. But even if it was, he could still be brought back.

Nashville Season 4 premieres on Wednesday, September 23 on ABC.
