Public figures are used to hecklers, but Mitt Romney will be a little more careful about them from now on.

A man was arrested on Thursday for charging at Romney's motorcade.

The incident took place during Romney's visit to Washington, D.C. to see President Barack Obama.

While driving to the White House, Romney's motorcade was about to arrive at a checkpoint at 15th and E Streets NW. It was at that time that a man, whose identity has yet to be released, was seen on the street running up to an SUV carrying the former presidential candidate. The man yelled at Romney through the window of his vehicle before he was taken away and arrested by uniformed Secret Service agents.

The heckler did not go quietly with the security agents.

Brian Leary, a spokesman for the U.S. Secret Service Office, said the man "became combative with a uniformed Secret Service officer," according to the Washington Post.

A CNN video of the incident was posted online which shows the man briefly heckling Romney near the passenger side of the SUV before the vehicle proceeded through the gates and onto the grounds of the White House. The man can be seen in the video running up to the vehicle yelling "Mitt! Mitt!"

The video backs up the story given by the Secret Service Office, which has given few details on the incident and what specific charges the man has been detention under.

Romney had lunch with the president for their first meeting since the election.

"Governor Romney congratulated the president for the success of his campaign and wished him well over the coming four years," the White House said of the meeting. "The focus of their discussion was on America's leadership in the world and the importance of maintaining that leadership position in the future."
