The time has officially come, after a tumultuous year and a half, for Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) to say farewell to his life in Port Charles and exit the canvas on General Hospital

Luke Reveals His Shocking Plans For The Future

After a psychotic break from reality which saw Luke manipulate and turn against everyone he loved as he partnered up with nearly all of his former enemies to try and win control of not only ELQ, but kill all of his loved ones as well in the process, Luke finally came to terms with the situation which caused him to act in such a way.

After realizing everything tied in to his past and the fact that he killed both of his parents as a teen, Luke finally returned to his normal self, and was ready to give a life with Tracy (Jane Elliot) another try--only to suddenly call things off with her to appear like he was reuniting with Laura (Genie Francis). The two, along with Lulu (Emme Rylan) and Dillon (Robert Palmer Watkins) then went off to Canada and rescued Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) and Ethan (Nathan Parsons) from a no longer dead Frank Smith. After defeating him, he then headed to Cassadine Island for a final showdown with Helena (Constance Towers), where he learned he hadn't accidentally killed his own grandson years ago. His return to Port Charles saw little Jake being reunited with his mother, but things didn't work out as well as hoped for Luke--who failed to win Tracy back for good.

Luke Returns To His Childhood Home

Now, after seeing literal ghosts of his past, Luke has made the decision to leave Port Charles for good in a quest to find himself--but before he goes, he will need to say one more final goodbye, to his old friend Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).

Following an emotional farewell on the docks, Luke will then depart and say goodbye to the town that has been his home for so many years.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
