"It will [be addressed] to a certain extent," showrunner Jeremy Carver told ShowbizJunkies at San Diego Comic-Con. "Probably in the first batch of episodes, we'll start to address that. You can imagine that it causes some issues."

It's safe to say the human race won't suddenly become immortal. The Reapers are still out there, just without a steady flow of instructions from their esteemed Boss. Perhaps the Big Daddy Reaper's job is now up for grabs.
