The photos of Kansas City Chiefs' linebacker Jovan Belcher and his girfriend Kasandra Perkins surfaced Saturday morning online after the reported murder-suicide in Kansas City where both died.

Police said Belcher,25 shot and killed his 22-year-old girlfriend at their home in Kansas City. Then he drove to a nearby practice facility where he shot and killed himself. According to ESPN and other news outlets, he committed suicide in front of the Chiefs' head coach and General Manager.

"They said the player was actually thanking them for everything they'd done for him," Kansas City police spokesman Darin Snapp said today. "They were just talking to him and he was thanking them and everything.

"That's when he walked away and shot himself."

According to the Kansas City Star, Belcher shot Perkins repeatedly Saturday morning in front of his mother. (An earlier report said Perkins' mother witnessed the murder but police corrected the account.)

Perkins' mother called Kansas City police to report the shooting, according to the report. Police was also called few minutes later to the practice facility over another shooting.

Belcher and Perkins were reportedly arguing before he killed her. The couple's 3-month-old daughter Zoey Michelle was born this past September. 

Pictures of the couple and their daughter surfaced on a Facebook account that allegedly belonged to Perkins.

Jovan Belcher's agent asked for prayers for the families involved in the tragic incident on Twitter.

"I am the agent for Jovan. At this time we are asking for prayers and sympathy. This is a very hard time. Thank you," the Twitter account @Jovan_Belcher read Saturday.
