The strong hints about Fast and Furious 8 being set in New York City have only been gaining credence as the star of the film, Vin Diesel, is seen in the city and also signing on for projects that are based there.

Most recently, Diesel posted some really cool pictures of himself in a New York state of mind. In the images posted on the actor's Instagram account, Diesel is seen on the streets of New York and even getting clicked with fans in a sports store.

Additionally, it was recently reported that the actor is set to star in a movie in which he is set to play a New York-based detective. The film, Kojak, is a remake of the '70s TV series of the same name.

Eva Mendes Has Signed On For Fast and Furious 8? 

The actor is a New Yorker and started his journey from the city. He also talks about it very often, and it is a very important part of who he is. In fact most recently it came up in an Instagram post about his movie The Last Witch Hunter, which casts Diesel as a character who fights to save New York City from getting ravaged by a plague. The actor paid a small tribute to his past writing:

"From the streets of New York to making magic on the Paramount lot... Proud of my team.

My brother Val.

#LastWitchHunter".

In May, Diesel posted an image on Instagram teasing Fast and Furious 8 in New York City. The picture showed the Fast and Furious 8 logo cast in garage metal, with New York City in the backdrop, the Brooklyn Bridge with the city's skyline.

Diesel has hinted at the film being set in New York before. In an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the actor revealed that he was really brought in for "a story that follows this that takes place in New York."

Fast and Furious 8 will be released on April 15, 2017.
