Lowell broke Liv's little iZombie heart, and it seems the undead doctor may not be looking for love in season 2.

Neither will the audience, for that matter, since apparently the death of Bradley James' character did not sit well with viewers, or at least not as well as executive producer Rob Thomas thought it would.

"The response to the death of Lowell. I had no idea how that - that shocked me," Thomas explained to iO9. "We knew we had him for five episodes, so that was always the plan. Bradley is a terrific actor and we were watching him and thinking 'This played well. This was nice.' There were so many reactions like 'We will not forgive you for this.'"

Liv (Rose McIver) certainly won't forgive Blaine (David Anders) anytime soon, that's for sure. As for rekindling her romance with Major (Robert Buckley), well, that's still a tenuous situation. If Major had happily remained a zombie, things would be different. Now that he's a human again (we think), all of Liv's old fears will come flooding back.

"Now that they both know, and Major knows what he'd be getting into, we're toying with, could they try a romantic relationship in which no bodily fluids were exchanged?" Thomas explained to TV Line. "It's sort of a great existential question of, could you have a romantic partner with whom the sexual limits were very, very strict?"

Check in with Liv and her lack of a love life when iZombie returns to The CW this fall.
