CSI: Crime Scene Investigation is heading off the air, but the title of the series finale movie would make you think differently.

Viewers will say goodbye to the Las Vegas crew during a two-hour event this September. Billed as a movie rather than a double episode sendoff, the final farewell will merge the old and the new with "Immortality: Part 1" and "Immortality: Part 2."

"It begins... The first day of shooting for the CSI finale," teased CSI mastermind Anthony Zuiker on Wednesday. "Stay tuned!"

The series creator followed up his photos of the scripts with several images from set, including a sneak peek at the first shot that, unsurprisingly, takes place in the blue glow of the lab.

Set to air on Sept. 27, the "Immortality" sequence will bring Supervisor Gil Grissom (William Petersen) and Asst. Supervisor Catherine Willows (Marg Helgenberger) back into the fold. Lindsey (Katie Stevens), Willows' daughter, will also enter the story line as a Level 1 CSI ready to tackle her first day on the job, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
