'Bourne 5' Spoilers: Alicia Vikander Joins Cast, Vincent Cassel As The Villain

  • Jason Bourne, everyone's favorite CIA assassin will take on a new mission in the upcoming film "Bourne 5."

    Apart from "The Martian" star Matt Damon leading the charge, the much-awaited installment of the action spy film will also see Oscar-nominated "The Danish Girl" star Alicia Vikander in action as a new character. Julia Stiles, Tommy Lee Jones, Vincent Cassel and Riz Ahmed will also be joining amazing cast.

    While the plot details are currently unknown, the film will see the return of Jason Bourne (Damon), as the super spy embarks on another adventure. However, just recently actress Alicia Vikander spills details on what the new film is all about.
  • The actress talked about what fans can expect of the upcoming movie and most importantly about the role she plays in an interview with The Wrap, "I'm not doing the conventional action but I'm very action-driven in this film," Vikander revealed.
  • "But it's not in the way most people would think," Vikander added, keeping a cloak of mystery around her role despite letting out the tiniest juicy bit about it. During the chat, the actress also admitted that it was a new, not to mention massive, experience filming "Bourne 5."
  • While it has been around 8 years since Matt Damon played Jason Bourne. Now, that the “Bourne 5” film is a go, a lot of information has surfaced.

    Damon isn’t the only original cast members to return. Julia Stiles, who played his former contact, will make a comeback.
  • Tommy Lee Jones will be in the new film, possibly as a CIA officer. Others includes Scott Shepherd as CIA Deputy Director, Riz Ahmed as a CIA tech guy and Ato Essandoh whose role in still unknown.
  • Every movie has a villain. This time, the bad guy will be played by Vincent Cassel. According to Variety, he will be an assassin. Cassel and Damon have previously worked in “Ocean’s 12.”
  • While information regarding the plot is scarce, Matt Damon did reveal some details in an interview with Buzzfeed. “Without giving too much of it away, it’s Bourne through an austerity-riddled Europe and in a post-Snowden world. It seems like enough has changed, you know? There are all these kinds of arguments about spying and civil liberties and the nature of democracy.”
  • MNG had also reported that Matt Damon told the New York Daily that Jason Bourne finally has his memory back. “[Bourne] has his memory back, but that doesn’t mean he knows everything. It’s 12 years since Jason Bourne has been on the grid. So we have to answer the questions, Where’s he been? What’s he doing? What gets him going again? So once we solved all that, then we had a movie.”
