Andre Romelle Young, also known as Dr. Dre, is celebrating his 51st birthday today and it's only right to relive his best moments because he has contributed so much in the hip-hop industry.
The now 51-year-old rapper gained major popularity when he was a member of the rap group N.W.A. along with Ice Cube, Eazy-E, MC Ren, and DJ Yella. In this stint, Dr. Dre and his co-rappers produced a very successful album titled "Straight Outta Compton." After his time with N.W.A., the rapper continued to produce hit songs for numerous labels.
Aside from releasing impressive rap songs that tackled Black Americans' situation on the streets, he also mentored some of today's most famous rappers in The D.O.C., Eminem, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, The Game and Kendrick Lamar. And to contribute more to the music society, he released his very own brand of headphones named Beats by Dr. Dre to help spread music to people.
