In April 2014 it was announced that Zack Snyder would be directing Goyer's Justice League script. Warner Bros. was reportedly courting Chris Terrio to rewrite Justice League the following July, after having been impressed with his rewrite of Batman v Superman. In October 2014, Warner Bros. announced the film would be released in two parts as the fifth and ninth installments of the DC Extended Universe, with Part One releasing in 2017, and Part Two in 2019. Snyder will direct both films.

It is expected that Fisher will reprise his role as Cyborg; while Jason Momoa will appear as Aquaman and Ezra Miller will appear as The Flash. In January 2016, Variety reports that Amber Heard is in talks for the role of Mera in the two part films and Aquaman. The film will be shot in the U.K. On January 19th, 2016, concept art was released for the film confirming Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and the Flash as the official lineup, though Geoff Johns hints that a Green Lantern and the Green Lantern Corps will eventually join the roster and appear in the movie.

The film will be released in 2017.
  • Henry Cavill had been casted as the next Superman in Man of Steel (2013), making him the first non-American actor to play Superman.

Superman is an important part of the DC Universe not only as Earth's protector, but also as a member or super group Justice League of America.
  • Ben Affleck will star as Bruce Wayne and Batman (also known as the Dark Knight) in the superhero film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and The Justice League Part One (2017).
  • Amber Heard will play the character of Mera. Mera is the wife of Aquaman, the Queen of Atlantis and a member of the Aquaman Family known for her strength and passion.
  • Gal Gadot is an Israeli actress and model. In early December 2013, Gal was cast as Wonder Woman in the upcoming superhero team-up film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), with filming beginning in 2014 for a March 2016 release.

She's the first non-American actress to play Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. She (Wonder Woman) one of the most famous superheroines in history, and the greatest superheroine of the DC Universe.

Her mother, Queen Hyppolyta, molded her out of clay and used magic to bring her to life. She is an Amazon princess that was chosen to go live in the world of men and protect all mankind as Wonder Woman.

She has super-strength, super-speed, invulnerability, the ability to fly, the ability to control clay, unbreakable bracelets and a magic lasso that compels people to tell the truth.
  • Amy Adams went on to play Superman's main love interest, "Lois Lane," on Man of Steel (2013). Lois Lane is the intrepid Daily Planet reporter.
  • Ezra Miller as The Flash. The first Flash was Jay Garrick. A lab accident involving fumes from hard water gave him his powers of super speed. He sported a red and blue costume with a large yellow lightning bolt extending diagonally across his chest and a round, metal hat.
  • Jason Momoa as Aquaman. Aquaman is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. During the late 1950s and 1960s superhero-revival period known as the Silver Age, he was a founding member of the Justice League of America. In the 1990s Modern Age, Aquaman's character became more serious than in most previous interpretations, with storylines depicting the weight of his role as king of Atlantis.
  • Ray Fisher as Cyborg. The son of two brilliant research scientists, Victor stone, earned their anger by devoting his own passion to sports rather than science. However, his life nearly came to an end when his trouble making friend Ron Evers convinced Victor to participate in a gang fight in which he was fatally wounded. He was saved by the efforts of his father, who replaced the missing parts of his body with limbs made of the metal molybdenum.
