Devin Velez was eliminated from "American Idol" Season 12 on Thursday night and only seven contestants remain in the competition.

Kree Harrison, Candice Glover and Janelle Arthur were the top 3 singers with the most votes from viewers and were the first to be announced as safe on today's show.

Keith Urban performed the song "Long Hot Summer" and former American Idol contestant Colton Dixon also sang his new single "Love Has Come For Me."

OneRepublic and Katharine McPhee also performed today.

On last night's Top 8 Performance show, the contestants performed Motown songs and were mentored by legendary singer Smokey Robinson.
