Sophie Turner Sums Up 'X-Men: Apocalypse' Casting With Three Little Letters

Byrne first stepped into the role for X-Men: First Class in 2011 and on Friday, Entertainment Weekly confirmed that the actress will again be diving into the Marvel universe for another go as the CIA Agent who sympathized with the X-Men's cause.

"She's a significant character in the movie," teased writer Simon Kinberg of the upcoming Marvel flick.

Though Moira and Charles Xavier (James MacAvoy) had something of a romantic relationship in First Class, the latter had erased portions of her memory regarding him and the X-Men at the end of the film. "They are, essentially, strangers to her when she meets them," noted Kinberg, though he refused to reveal the exact nature of Moira's return.

Set in the 1980s, the upcoming movie will see the return of First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past stars MacAvoy as Charles Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Evan Peters as Quicksilver, and Jenifer Lawrence as Mistique.

Last week director Bryan Singer announced that HBO's Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner would be taking on the iconic role of Jean Grey, with Tye Sheridan (Mud) and Alexandra Shipp (Aaliyah: The Princess Of R&B) appearing as major players Cyclops and Storm.

X-Men: Apocalypse will hit theatres on May 27, 2016.
